Wellmune WGP now in SunRype bars

FruitActiv Immuniboost whole grain and fruit bars get a boost from Biothera's immunity ingredient.

Wellmune WGP®, the natural immune booster from Biothera, is now in a line of fruit and whole grain bars from a leading fruit snack manufacturer. The FruitActiv™ Immuniboost™ bars from British Columbia-based Sun-Rype Products Ltd., are available at grocery stores, supermarkets, mass merchandisers and club channel stores throughout Canada.

Wellmune is a natural beta 1,3/1,6 glucan derived from a proprietary strain of baker’s yeast. Wellmune is clinically proven to safely boost the immune system to keep the body healthy. Eight published, peer-reviewed studies demonstrate that Wellmune mobilizes billions of innate immune cells that are part of the body’s natural defenses, without over stimulating the immune system.

“Sun-Rype’s R&D department is highly skilled at developing formulations that maximize taste while incorporating functional ingredients with meaningful benefits, such as clinically proven Wellmune WGP for immune  support,” said Barb Broder, group marketing manager—food, Sun-Rype. “With the addition of our FruitActiv Immuniboost line containing Wellmune, boomers and other health-conscious consumers now have an easy way to give their immune system a boost with the goodness of a fruit and whole grain snack.”

“Bars are an ideal delivery vehicle for Wellmune’s everyday, year-round immune support,” said Richard G. Mueller, Biothera chief executive officer. “The FruitActiv Immuniboost bars align with key consumer trendson-the-go convenience, wholesome ingredients and functional benefits.”

The bars are available in a choice of Mango Twist or Orange Squeeze flavors. Each bar contains 100 mg of Wellmune. The suggested retail price per bar is $1.49 to $1.99.

Currently, there are more than 100 products with Wellmune in more than 60 countries around the world.
