According to the National Coffee Association’s National Coffee Drinking Trends market research study, the single-cup brewing format continues to grow. In 2013, it was reported that 83 percent of the United States adult population drinks coffee; and 13 percent of the U.S population reported past day consumption; this is up from 4 percent in 2010. Furthermore, Packaged Facts estimates that overall retail single-cup coffee sales in the U.S. will reach projected $5.0 billion by 2016.
