First grocery price comparison site to launch will soon allow customers to compare prices of grocery store products. The site currently includes grocery store chains only on the East Coast and a few elsewhere, such as Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Piggly Wiggly, A & P, The Fresh Market, Foodtown, Waldbaum, Shop Rite, Raley's and more. The company plans to add more grocery stores on the East Coast within the next two months and then to expand nationwide by the middle of 2010.

On the current BETA site (which still has some bugs), I could search for some natural brands -- Amy’s, Seventh Generation, Tom’s of Maine and Silk, for example -- but only those products available at mass grocers, it seemed. says it plans to add more natural products stores in the future. I expect that will then also expand its inventory to include even-more natural brands and products.

What do you think of this type of site where customers can compare prices before hitting the store, as well as read product reviews and get ratings, nutrition info and ingredients? Will this service help your business?
