Gluten-free database: try it free!

Zeer, an online product database for shoppers, just launched a new gluten-free database called Zeer Select, and they're offering a free 30-day trial to Delicious Living readers (promo code is DLIVING, case sensitive). I took a virtual tour of the site last week, and I must say, it's quite impressive. The site contains more than 30,000 products that have all been exhaustively researched for gluten or possible gluten ingredients, with four easy-to-see safety-status symbols: gluten free, appears to be gluten free, may contain gluten, and contains gluten. It highlights potentially problematic ingredients too (such as "caramel color" or "natural flavoring"), and provides an explanation of what this might mean for gluten-free eaters. If a particular product contains gluten, Zeer even suggests gluten-free alternatives, and you can catalog your choices in an online list (which you can also share with friends). I think this might be an especially useful service for large institutions, such as universities, hospitals, and corporations with cafeterias. If you check it out, let me know what you think!
