Majority of Americans not buying local

According to a survey released today by research group Mintel, just one in six adults say buying local is a priority. That's only 17 percent of adults who will pay a higher price to consistently buy locally-sourced goods. "Aspirational locals" -- respondents who would buy local but don't know where to find them -- made up 30 percent; and adults who said they don't care where their food comes from made up 27 percent.
