How much chocolate and cheese can one girl stuff in her mouth? I was determined to find out as I climbed the stairs to the Fancy Food show in New York City last week. What I discovered is that this girl can down a lot of chocolate, cheese and natural and organic food. Alongside the gourmet cheeses and chocolates (cakes, brownies and pâtés), was a bounty of fair trade, natural, organic, single-origin, gluten-free products. Level 1 featuring New Brands on the Shelf, had the most natural and organic. Among my favorites:
Garlic Clove Foods new pilaf mixes that feature bulgur wheat and quinoa layered beautifully with vegetables and beans in a clear bag.
Plucker’s Pick “single-garden” tea. Unlike most tea, this tea is a single, unblended tea from a sole garden in Sri Lanka.
I love Divvies gluten-free line, especially their pre-baked gluten-free cupcakes that come with a frosting kit; perfect to bring to the classroom.
Good Tastes Gourmet Mac and Cheese—their Brie & Fig Mac and Cheese was to die for.
At the bottom of the rich, lightly sweetened Chobani’s Pomegranate Greek Yogurt you find whole pomegranate seeds in their juice.
