Naturally New Zealand

As a former resident of New Zealand, I am always on the lookout for all things Kiwi. Last night at a party, I randomly met the founder of new, yummy body care company NZP Naturals. I'm slathering on their lanolin-based lip balm now. If you don't know about lanolin, you should.

Essentially grease from sheeps' wool, lanolin is full of nourishing oils that keep skin's lipids intact. Plus, it helps strengthen nails, which is actually how NZP came into being -- the founder's father used to use lanolin to strengthen his horses' hooves. Nowadays, NZP's balms smell kind of minty with a touch of earthiness (must be the sheep), and they go on smooth and even. The Denver-based company uses natural New Zealand lanolin, and its products are launching in Whole Foods soon.
