You may have tried mineral makeups but what about silk-based cosmetics? I hadn't until last week. (That's yours truly enjoying a makeover at the Aubrey Organics booth at Natural Products Expo West.) Made with sustainably harvested silk threads -- which don't kill the silk worm -- the powdered makeups in Aubrey's line of blushes and bases are super soft and a bit shimmery. Also, because they're all loose powders, you can blend and match colors to double as eyeshadows, blush, base, or even body shimmer. This makeup artist used four colors on me--and the result was very natural and light.
