Celiac disease sufferers missing bread, vitamins

Even when diagnosed early, people with celiac disease suffer from vitamin and mineral deficiency, according to a new study from the Netherlands.

In addition to intestinal misery lurking in something as innocuous-seeming as bread crumbs, people with celiac disease also face vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Even people diagnosed early with the disease lack critical levels of important vitamins and minerals, according to a new study published in the journal Nutrients.
