FDA officially likes DuPont's probiotics

The FDA expanded their approval of DuPont's probiotic strains this week from dairy applications to other categories.

This week the FDA granted Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS) status to the probiotic strains in DuPont Nutrition & Health's Bifidobacterium lactis range.

The bugs are now officially recognized as safe and suitable for use in all food products and dietary supplements, broadening approval from just dairy applications.
