Tart cherries sweeten post-workout recovery

A study adds cyclists to the list of athletes who may benefit from Montmorency tart cherries.

New research suggests that Montmorency tart cherries reduced the toll a simulated three-day race took on cyclists.

“Previous studies have looked at tart cherries and the effect on recovery following weight lifting exercise and marathon running, but until now there hasn’t been information on recovery following strenuous exercise from cycling,” Dr. Glyn Howatson of Northumbria University in the U.K.. told
