Kashi(R) Company Introduces Three New Varieties of All-Natural Frozen Entrees

LA JOLLA, Calif., Oct 31, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Kashi Company, the premier natural food products company, today announced that it will expand its line of all-natural frozen entrees by adding three new flavor varieties. Consistent with Kashi's existing frozen food product offering, the new entrees are all-natural, minimally processed and provide a nutrient-packed and satisfying food experience.

Kashi's newest frozen meal innovations include Pesto Pasta Primavera, Chicken Florentine and Lemongrass Chicken varieties. Each of the new entrees are made with natural ingredients such as large-cut vegetables and lean chicken breast, and include palate-pleasing sauces such as basil pesto, garlic white wine, and lemongrass and coconut. The meals contain no additives, preservatives or anything artificial.

In addition to these unique ingredients, the Chicken Florentine and Lemongrass Chicken entrees also include Kashi's original pilaf, a distinctive blend of seven whole grains plus sesame, which was the company's first retail product. The Pesto Pasta Primavera features multigrain penne pasta made with the same seven whole grains used in Kashi's signature pilaf.

All of the Kashi frozen entrees, including the three new flavor combinations, contain 240-380 calories and offer five to seven grams of fiber and eight to 22 grams of protein. They also feature essential nutrients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A and iron. The three new entrees will be offered in addition to the six existing meals which include Southwest Style Chicken, Black Bean Mango, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Lemon Rosemary Chicken, Lime Cilantro Shrimp and Chicken Pasta Pomodoro.

The three new varieties will be available at retailers nationwide in January 2007. Existing flavors are currently available in natural food and major grocery chains across the U.S.
