Leading British-owned clean label ingredient specialist Ulrick & Short Ltd. has boosted its already market-leading range of clean label and non-GM starches with the launch of two new, highly functional potato-based starches, Synergie 180P and 190P.
These new ingredients perform better than other potato starches available and have proved their worth in extensive trials with meat products. Synergie 180P is extremely versatile in both brining and tumbling of meat and reformed meat products, whilst Synergie 190P has been specially developed for related applications where starch needs to be held in suspension prior to injection.
These latest product launches further extend Ulrick & Short’s already unrivalled range of clean label non-GM starch and flour ingredients, in demand from almost every sector of the food processing and manufacturing markets. The firm’s technical expertise has led to the development of what it believes to be the widest range of clean label ingredients available to the meat sector from any single UK supplier.
The company, which prides itself on its innovation and long-term development partnerships with household manufacturers, already supplies many complimentary ingredients to the meat industry, including Deliquess, which increases succulence whilst simultaneously reducing fat; Complex, a wheat protein used to bind and emulsify; and Ezimoist, for effective tumbling and injection of meat products. These meat-specific applications are underpinned by significant demand for the firm’s range of maize, tapioca and rice starches which improve the mouthfeel, texture and stability of savoury (and sweet) sauces whilst also reducing fat content.
Director Adrian Short explained: “We’re very proud of our burgeoning reputation for innovation within all areas of food manufacturing—and of course of these new additions to our Synergie range. We don’t believe that any other British company can match what we offer in terms of range and versatility. U&S is effectively providing meat industry customers with a cost-effective one-stop shop for their many and varied requirements, with the opportunity for bespoke product development and the added bonus of clean label and non-GM transparency and traceability.”
