Z Trim Holdings Abstract Selected as "Best of the Best" by Institute of Food Technologists

Z Trim Holdings, Inc., manufacturer of multifunctional fiber food ingredients, today announced its scientific abstract, Minimally Processed Soluble Dietary Fiber for Health and Wellness Foods Design and Reformulation, was selected as being among the “best of the best” abstracts submitted to the “New Products and Technologies” (NPT) sessions in the Ingredients category for the 2009 Institute of Food Technology’s (IFT) 2009 Annual Meeting and Food Expo’s Scientific Program.

Z Trim Holding’s Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Technology, Dr. Triveni Shukla, PhD., author of the abstract, will give an oral presentation in room 201AB at 11:50 a.m. PST on Tuesday, June 9 at the annual IFT meeting.

In conformance with the requirements of the program, the IFT NPT judging subpanel recognized that the abstract submission met the criteria of being new, incorporating a convincingly innovative new technology, and delivering improved performance over competitive items already available. The panel weighed the abstract’s relevance against the following quality factors: degree of innovation, practical application of content, quality of abstract, scientific merit, pertinence to IFT member audience, and timeliness of science.

According to Dr. Shukla, “Our proprietary dietary fiber hydrcolloids have nano to macro scale functional attributes that enable or enhance design functions in food products for superior values.”

These sessions typically generate much interest among product developers and manufacturing personnel who are looking for solutions to meet their needs.

News of the selection represents progress in Z Trim Holdings’ forward looking approach. “Our selection underscores the degree of value we bring to our marketplace,” said Z Trim Holdings CEO Steve Cohen. “As we continue to grow our own line of offerings, we look forward to working with our customers, and expanding on the solutions we can offer as we continue to develop our own market space,” he said. “We are quite proud of the honor.”
