New brand Native State Foods is bringing to market a purple maize pinole, which is designed to be eaten for breakfast—and according to co-founder Angela Palmieri, is made with ingredients chosen for their healthfulness, not their low cost. “We saw an opportunity to bill Native State Foods and our first product line, Purely Pinole, on really choosing premium nutrition ingredients that are real,” she says.
