Nothing to Sneeze At: Sales Of Allergen-Free, Gluten-Free Foods Soar

Enjoy Life, Bob’s Red Mill, Naturally Me and Nu-World Amaranth see allergen-free foods stepping into shelf space left by low-carb.

The market for allergen-free and glutenfree foods has increased dramatically in the past year and appears poised for explosive growth, as supermarkets and other mainstream shopping outlets install sections devoted to these products. Over 2,500 products labeled as gluten-free are now on the market in the U.S., with sales totaling over $662 million, according to SPINS. Growth of gluten- free products increased 13% over the past year.
