Following a 13% rise in 2005 during a flat year on Wall Street, the NBJ Index took off for an 18% price gain in the first quarter of 2006, while the Dow and Nasdaq gained 4-6%. Noteworthy gainers in significant holdings were Wild Oats up 68%, Sun Opta up 64% and NBTY up 39%. Hansen Natural continued to steamroll along, up 60%, following two years of gains exceeding 300%. Overall gains outnumbered losses in the NBJ Index 37 to 14.
