Boulder residents mobilize against GM crops

Residents, farmers, retailers and manufacturers gathered in protest against a proposition before county commissioners to allow the planting of GM sugar beets on public land. While GM corn and soybeans are already being planted on this land, demonstrators hope a ban on sugar beets would eventually lead to a ban on all GM crops. The county commission will vote on the proposition this November.
