The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements is accepting comments for its strategic plan for 2010 and beyond. Since 2004-2009, the ODS has focused on five strategic goals.
ODS is re-examining its Strategic Plan and desires public comment on the progress of its programs and on future needs and opportunities for program activities. A background paper, A Report to the Public, (click here for pdf) summarizes the agency's progress in four key areas:
- Are the current strategic goals adequate?
- Is ODS meeting its stakeholders' needs?
- In the future, should some of ODS's current programs or activities be given higher (or lower) priority?
- How can ODS more effectively provide useful information to the ODS user community, including consumers, investigators, practitioners, industry, media, policy makers, government, and other interested parties?"
"ODS does not work alone but in partnership with other NIH Institutes and Centers and indeed with partners throughout the Federal government. In fact, working together in collaboration with others is an important part of our operation. We look forward to receiving your comments on the issues, initiatives and priorities of ODS," says Paul M. Coates, Ph.D., Director, Office of Dietary Supplements.
