Three people have joined FutureCeuticals' technical sales team in the company's Illinois location. As sales associates, Patrick Lenehan, Mark Stagg and Ryan Wories work with the technical-sales and customer-service representatives to manage new development projects for customers. Their responsibilities also include ensuring that all samples, documentation and information are conveyed quickly and accurately.

PureCircle adds five employees
PureCircle, the world's leading developer, producer and marketer of Rebaudioside A (Reb-A), has added five key personnel to its US operations: Dr Sidd Purkayastha, technical director; Jason Hecker, director of marketing; Mike Wolff, sales director; Jacqueline Armstrong, sales director East Coast; and Mauricio Bacigaluppo, sales director Latin America. All of the new hires have extensive backgrounds in the food, food-ingredient and sweetener industries.

Ali ConnellManitoba Harvest gains sales manager
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils of Winnipeg has named veteran sales executive Ali Connell as its Canada national sales manager. Prior to joining Manitoba Harvest, Connell gained extensive sales management experience working for leading companies, including Procter & Gamble, Hain Celestial and Clearly Canadian. Earlier this year, Manitoba Harvest announced that it closed a Series A round of investment with Avrio Ventures, which is helping to fuel the financial, research, product development and production aspects of the business. Connell's hire was prompted by the company's shift to the human-resources aspect of its team.

Dee PiggottFusion hires two beverage experts
Fusion Formulations has appointed two formulators: Chris McVicker and Deirdre 'Dee' Piggott. McVicker has worked for Custom Food Solutions, Key Essentials Flavors and APV Crepaco in various capacities; he specialises in preserved, pasteurized and hot-fill systems, HTST, UHT, and aspect processes for liquid beverages, powders and food. Piggott, a beverage-development consultant, was formerly with FONA International as beverage technical-solutions manager, where she built, managed and led a beverage technical team and wrote a course called "Beverage Development for Dummies." Prior to this, she served as beverage applications manager for Quest International.

Matt Riegnermix1 gets new CFO
Boulder, Colorado's mix1 Beverage Company appointed Matthew M Riegner as chief financial officer. Riegner served for five years as director of corporate development, treasury and M&A at Englewood, Colorado-based CSG Systems International, where he was responsible for building and maintaining CSG's long-range financial model, transaction due diligence, financial modeling and ROI/valuation analysis, as well as other duties.
