Consumers experiment with plant-based proteins [infographic]

Plant-based living isn't just for vegan and vegetarian consumers. In fact, more than half of Americans have tried alternative dairy products, according to a recent survey commissioned by Earth Balance, and almost two-thirds say they have tried plant-based protein alternatives like veggie burgers or tofu.

As brands rise to the occasion with new products that deliver on taste, texture and nutrition, they make it even easier for consumers to incorporate more plants—maybe even in place of meat—into their diets. Here's a look at the popularity of plant-based foods.
