Chrysantis, Inc. announces that starting March 15, all Certificates of Analysis for the all-natural, zeaxanthin brand EZEyes®, will include a chiral chromatogram. The chiral chromatogram will provide compliance with the GMP regulations, which require identification of ingredients purchased for the manufacture of dietary supplements.
Many people claim to sell zeaxanthin but in many cases this is not true. Zeaxanthin has 3 isomers (RR, RS and SS). Only one isomer, the 3R 3’R, has been approved for use in dietary supplements.
“Distinguishing between compliant and non-compliant zeaxanthin can be a difficult task. Chiral chromatography is the best way to easily identify RR zeaxanthin,” says Phil Gowaski, Sales and Marketing Manager for Chrysantis. “A chiral chromatogram is a proven analytical method that clearly differentiates dietary 3R 3’R zeaxanthin from other non-dietary forms.”
Zeaxanthin, in combination with lutein, is a critical nutrient for eye health that can help guard against vision problems, such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and cataracts. New research has also shown a link between zeaxanthin and cognitive function. EZEyes zeaxanthin, made from marigolds, is the only natural 3R 3’R zeaxanthin on the market.
