The EU Patent Examiner has informed Lipogen Ltd., Israel, of the approval of its request for patent grant of PAS™ – a dietary supplement ingredient for mental stress control. This patent has already been granted in Israel and the USA. Lipogen will start marketing it in West Europe in the next few weeks and will highlight it at the Natural Product Expo West show in Anaheim, CA, USA.
Lipogen PAS™ is a patented vegetarian complex of soy lecithin phosphatidic acid (PA) and phosphatidylserine (PS) that is clinically proven to control mental, psychological & physical stress. According to a published clinical research in The International Journal on the Biology of Stress, which was conducted at the University of Trier, Germany, Lipogen PAS™, an all-natural supplement, has shown ability to improve function under long-term mental and psychological stress conditions. This novel brain health ingredient can be delivered via dietary supplements or functional foods and beverages.
Lipogen PAS™ attained GRAS status, as have all other PS products that Lipogen offers, and can be applied to a wide range of functional foods, as well as nutritional beverages, nutrition bars and dairy products. “The market size for Lipogen PAS™ is by far bigger in comparison with other common PS products,” says David Rutenberg, CEO of Lipogen. “This is a breakthrough PS ingredient and we expect to increase our PS market share in USA and Europe.”
Phosphatidylserine and phosphatidic acid are natural phospholipids that constitute the biological membrane on the outer layer of the brain cells. Under prolonged stress the body is unable to produce enough PS and PA. This eventually prevents normal functioning of our brain and body.
Lipogen, a leading PS (Phosphatidylserine) developer since 1992, focuses on natural mental health solutions for dietary supplements and for functional foods and beverages. All Lipogen products are vegetarian, solvent-free, and kosher certified.
