Following an agreement with LycoRed Ltd, Israel for rights to exclusive distribution of Lyc-O-Mato® tomato lycopene complex in South Africa, SK Chemtrade Services (PTY) Ltd., Johannesburg, launched the dietary supplement at Dis-Chem, a leading pharmacy chain. SK Chemtrade’s marketing strategy is focused on educating the consumer about the health benefits of Lyc-O-Mato® through print, TV and radio press releases and interviews.
The marketing campaign got off to a rousing start with best selling author, Robert Kowalski’s two week tour in South Africa to promote his new book, Take the Pressure Off Your Heart: 8 Weeks to Lower Blood Pressure Without Prescription Drugs. Prominent South African cardiologist Dr. Tom Mabin, in introducing Kowalski, highlighted the fact that by 2010 the number of South African deaths caused by hypertension is set to surpass those caused by HIV AIDS - currently the leading cause of death in South Africa.
