As awareness of the health benefits surrounding omega-3s increases, identifying organizations that have made a commitment to strict quality standards has now gotten easier. The Global Organization for EPA and DHA (GOED) has confirmed the launch of its new "Proud Member" logo program available to member companies.
GOED's member companies range from omega-3 suppliers and manufacturers to traders and consumer product companies. The more than 80 businesses that are members of the organization have made a commitment to comply with GOED's monograph standard—regulations that are stricter than any in the world—and adhere to a code of ethics for their respective marketing practices. A listing of these companies can be found on the website http://www.goedomega3.com/our-members.html.
Member companies can now emphasize their affiliation and this commitment through the use of the GOED Omega-3 Proud Member logo on their websites, in business-to-business product brochures or in other trade advertising and outreach.
"The logo program will help suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and others interested in the health benefits of omega-3s to easily identify the companies who have met GOED's strict quality and ethics standards," said Adam Ismail, GOED's executive director. "Companies using this logo can be immediately identified as omega-3 industry leaders committed to increasing education on and awareness of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA."
GOED is a proactive and accountable association of the world's finest processors, refiners, manufacturers, distributors, marketers, retailers and supporters of products containing Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) omega-3 fatty acids. The organization's objectives are to promote and protect the category, educate consumers about the health benefits of EPA/DHA, and work with government groups, the healthcare community and the industry, while setting high standards for our business sector. GOED and its members are committed to personal integrity, ethical corporate behavior, public safety and quality assurance. For more information, visit http://www.goedquality.com/.
