Meiji Dairies Corporation will launch the new “Meiji Bio Mama 8, Pre-Mama Tetsu + Yousan (Iron + Folic Acid) Tablet” nationwide on 24 September 2008 (JPY 800/45 tablets). The product is aimed at pregnant and nursing mothers, who find it difficult to get all the nutrients they need from their daily diet. The product therefore contains iron and folic acid, which are among the nutrients that can most easily be lacking from mothers’ diets. Taking three tablets a day would supply 9.8 mg of iron and 220 μg of folic acid; half of the recommended daily intake.
