An American environmentalist and writer, Bill McKibben is the founder of 350.org, an international climate campaign. From his first book, The End of Nature, to Deep Economy: the Wealth of Communities and the Durable Future, Bill has addressed topics such as global warming, alternative energy, living lightly on the earth, training for endurance events, genetic engineering, population issues, activism and the shortcomings of the growth economy. A frequent contributor to magazines including The New York Times, The Atlantic Monthly, Harper's, Orion Magazine, Mother Jones, The New York Review of Books, Granta, Rolling Stone, Outside, and Grist. Bill has been awarded Guggenheim and Lyndhurst Fellowships, and won the Lannan Prize for nonfiction writing in 2000. Click here for more information.
