Joint appointment at Polifenoles Naturales, PLT
Dr Vladimir Badmaev has accepted a joint appointment as director of scientific and medical affairs at Polifenoles Naturales and PL Thomas (PLT). In this newly established position, Badmaev will lead the new ingredient pipeline development of the strategic alliance between the two companies and will lead other PLT initiatives. Badmaev received his MD and PhD (immunopharmacology) in Poland and trained in clinical and anatomical pathology at Kings County Hospital and Downstate Medical Center, New York. He worked for 15 years at Sabinsa.

Embria's success wins award for Diamond V chief executive
John Bloomhall, CEO of feed ingredient supplier Diamond V, was recently honored with the Iowa Biotechnology Association's 2009 Entrepreneurial Achievement Award in recognition for the successful growth Diamond V has experienced under his leadership and the launch of its human health subsidiary, Embria Health Sciences. Additionally, Stuart Reeves, PhD, Embria's director of research and development, was elected to the association's Board of Directors.

Fusion Formulations hires sales VP
Greg St Clair has joined Fusion Formulations as vice president of sales. St Clair will direct all sales activities, including lead generation, advertising, trade shows, account development/management, customer relations, and pricing domestic and international. St Clair holds a bachelor's degree in business from California State University at Fullerton. He is also an active member of the American Cancer Society and several industry associations (ABC, AOAC, NSF, NPA, CRN, AHPA, DSEA), and is a sought-after expert contributor for industry trade media.

Marketing director for Jarrow Formulas
Trish Mahon has joined Jarrow Formulas as the director of marketing. For the past 10 years, Mahon was president of outsource marketing, a direct-to-consumer marketing agency. Mahon has been developing and managing multi-channel consumer marketing campaigns for more than 15 years. Previously, she worked in-house for IBM, The Franklin Mint, KOLD-TV (CBS), Kent & Spiegel, Guthy-Renker, and Quantum Television.

Key Tech names Marmet area sales manager
Key Technology has named Patrick Marmet as area sales manager for France. Marmet is responsible for bringing Key's automated inspection and sorting systems, specialised conveying, and processing equipment to customers throughout France that process and package food products. Marmet brings more than 20 years of experience selling industrial equipment, including 10 years selling packaging machinery to the food-processing industry. Most recently, he was an area sales manager for TNA Europe.
