Soft Gel Technologies, Inc. Collaborates with Naturopathic Doctor to Present Seminar on Antidepressant Herb and Autograph Lifestyle and Wellness Book at Natural Products Expo West

LOS ANGELES, CA, February 26, 2006–Soft Gel Technologies, Inc.® (SGTI) and OptiPure® will host Andrew Myers, N.D. as a speaker at the Natural Products Expo West trade show in Anaheim, California, on Friday, March 9th at 11:30 a.m. in room 207c of the Anaheim Convention Center. Dr. Myers is a naturopathic physician with nearly 20 years of experience developing new nutritional products. He currently serves as the President and Chief Science Officer of NutraGenetics, a global company that specializes in consumer brand marketing of natural health products and services. He is the author of “Simple Health Value,” a straightforward book about adding five practical lifestyle choices to a person’s daily routine that will significantly improve health. In his presentation entitled, “Re-invigorating the Depressed Depression Market,” Dr. Myers will discuss depression and its underlying causes, and will also explain the cyclic relationship between depression, insomnia, and stress. Seminar participants will learn about a holistic treatment plan highlighting the benefits of Posinol®—a natural herbal alternative to prescription antidepressants. Show attendees are encouraged to meet Dr. Myers and obtain free autographed copies of his book following his presentation at the SGTI booth (number 1404) from 1:00-2:30 p.m.

Posinol® is an herbal supplement that has a strong safety record and should be a first choice for mild depression. It is an extract from the leaves of Apocynum venetum, a traditional Chinese herb with a long history of use—over 600 years—that was originally used for treating hypertension. It has been the subject of numerous animal trials which demonstrate its safety and efficacy. Results from a recent human pilot study that was completed will be reviewed during the upcoming presentation. OptiPure® is the exclusive supplier of this botanical material, which is also available as a soft gelatin capsule from Soft Gel Technologies, Inc.®

Dr. Myers received is Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington and his undergraduate degree in Biology (Molecular) from the University of Arizona. He has extensive television and radio experience and has lectured widely to health professionals, the U.S. military, and the public on all aspects of natural health. In his book as well as during lectures, Dr. Myers advocates that being healthy doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive or time consuming.

SGTI President, Ron Udell, commented, “We are pleased to have Dr. Myers speak on our behalf. He presents a compelling talk on ‘natural’ solutions for depression that features one of our exclusive, branded products.”
