Cargill names TSI Group exclusive glucosamine distributor

Cargill has announced it has appointed TSI Group Ltd. as its exclusive distributor for the sale and marketing of Cargill’s Regenasure® glucosamine products in China. TSI Group Ltd. will be supplying all Regenasure products within that geographic area, as well as providing application and technical assistance.

“We view this agreement as a strategic direction for our product line to help us meet the Chinese demand for our U.S. produced Regenasure glucosamine products as well as helping to support the promotion of vegetarian glucosamine products on a global basis,” said Mark Christiansen, acidulants product line manager, Cargill Corn Milling North America based in Wayzata, Minn.

“TSI Group, Ltd. China is uniquely qualified to meet all of Cargill’s requirements to promote our brand in that fast growing geography,” Christiansen added.

According to Joe Zhou, TSI Group Ltd. co-founding partner and CEO, based in Shanghai, China, on the heels of TSI and Cargill entering into a new settlement licensing agreement for Cargill’s intellectual property with their U.S. and Chinese patents, “This exclusive distributor arrangement will provide the needed incentive for the growth of Cargill’s Regenasure glucosamine product line in China.

TSI Group Ltd. formed two strategic divisions in 2012—value services and innovation products—to deliver sales and marketing to its clients worldwide. The innovation products division will provide global sales and marketing of proprietary branded ingredients.
