AIDP enters digestive health market

AIDP partners with Life Bridge International to market Prebix prebiotic ingredient.

AIDP Inc. announces that it has entered into a partnership with Life Bridge International to market its revolutionary prebiotic ingredient. The prebiotic, Prebix™, is a GRAS-notified and Non-GMO Verified corn-based prebiotics that has been shown in clinical studies to significantly increase the proliferation of bifidobacterium in both low and high doses. The prevailing benefit of Prebix is that, contrary to probiotics, it is highly stable (does not require refrigeration), and can be used in food and beverage. Comparing to other prebiotics, it can be used in small doses and thus reduces the chance of bloating. The new ingredient will be launched officially in March 2015 at Natural Products Expo West, Booth #183.

LifeBridge specializes in diabetic-friendly/low calorie sweeteners. Its manufacturing partner in China, Shandong Longlive Bio-technology Co Ltd, holds the manufacturing patent on Prebix™.

Frank Fang, CEO and owner of Life Bridge International, and vice general manager at Shandong Longlive Bio-technology Co Ltd., said, “Life Bridge is very enthusiastic about our relationship with AIDP. We have been searching for a partner in the U.S. who has a proven track record in marketing premium functional ingredients, and one who understands and can navigate the challenges of bringing a prebiotic to market. We look forward to a fruitful relationship with AIDP.”

AIDP, which has had great success with ingredients for cognitive health (Magtein™), joint health (KoACT®) and an impressive portfolio of protein ingredients, has been eyeing the digestive health segment as a natural next step in expanding its business.

“Digestive health is a huge market, and wanted to enter with a strong ingredient, backed by solid science from a reputable manufacturer,” says Edward Lee, founder and president of AIDP Inc. “We’re thrilled to begin this partnership with Life Bridge. The new ingredient shows immense promise in its functionality and versatility in food and beverage manufacturing.”
