AHPA Alerts Launch

(August 30, 2007, Silver Spring, MD) — AHPA is launching AHPA Alerts, an e-mail news service that delivers information of relevance to the herbal products industry on legal and regulatory actions, newly-published scientific studies, and articles from the popular media, all on a near-immediate basis.

AHPA Alerts will be delivered electronically as a free AHPA member benefit through an opt-in process and in three separate categories of interest:

  • AHPA Legal Alerts provide links to actions by and publications of regulatory and legislative bodies, so that AHPA members maintain a current awareness of the legal environment for marketing of herbal products. While the main focus is on activities within the U.S., some attention is given to international developments.

  • AHPA Science Alerts identify articles in scientific journals to keep AHPA members current on emerging research on herbs. Areas of interest include new clinical research, case reports associated with herbs, analytical method development, and related topics.
  • AHPA Media Alerts point out reports in popular media outlets to inform AHPA members of the news being distributed through the media in all channels. Whether the tone is positive, negative, or presented with journalistic balance, the media message to consumers is of interest to every company in this industry.

Over the next two weeks, all AHPA members will receive trial AHPA Alerts in each of the above three categories. After that, you must opt-in via email to subscribe. Each AHPA Alert includes instructions on how to opt-in to continue to receive the Alerts of your choice. If you chose not to subscribe, your email address will be removed automatically.

All AHPA members are encouraged to identify the appropriate staff for receipt of each of the separate AHPA Alerts. You may choose to have AHPA Legal Alerts delivered to your regulatory affairs department while AHPA Science Alerts go to product development staff, and your public relation personnel receive AHPA Media Alerts. There is no limit to the number of AHPA Alerts that an AHPA member company may request.
