Aker BioMarines Krill Oil is entering worldwide health markets

The biotechnology company Aker BioMarine has developed a dietary supplement containing 100% pure Krill Oil. With recently signed distribution agreements covering the US and Nordic markets, Aker BioMarine is getting ready for product launches in 2008.

Aker BioMarine™ is an integrated biotech company with extensive experience gained from sophisticated deep-sea fisheries and a proven track record of developing branded ingredients for the nutraceutical market. The company conducts sustainable krill harvesting using its state-of-the-art fishing vessels operating in Antarctic waters. Aker BioMarine’s proprietary Eco-Harvesting technology enables continuous processing of fresh krill, which results in superior product quality.

Distribution agreement covering the US dietary supplement market
Aker BioMarine has signed an agreement with Jedwards International, Inc. for distribution of Aker BioMarine’s Krill Oil. Jedwards, one of the leading Omega-3 distributors in the United States, holds an estimated 25-30 percent Omega-3 market share in the US. Based on Jedwards’ established customer base and extensive distribution network, Aker BioMarine expects successful penetration of the US market for its Krill Oil products.

Uniquely positioned in the Nordic health food market
Aker BioMarine has entered into an agreement with Life Europe AB for distribution of Aker BioMarine’s Krill Oil by the largest health food store chain in the Nordic countries. The agreement is unique in that only two participants - Aker BioMarine and Life Europe AB - are involved in the entire value chain, from harvesting Antarctic krill to placing consumer-ready Krill Oil on store shelves.
