CRN gains 3 voting members

These are the first companies to join CRN since it announced a new membership structure in July.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the dietary supplement industry’s leading trade association, announced the addition of three new Voting Members—Barrington Nutritionals, Stratum Nutrition and Vitatech Nutritional Sciences Inc.

Founded in 1991, the company’s diverse product line includes the distribution of specialty branded nutrients from innovative partners with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities as well as value-added granulations and custom formulations. They have offices in N.Y., Utah and Calif. and seven stocking locations from coast to coast.

Stratum Nutrition, a Novus International company, is a specialty health ingredient supplier based in St. Charles, Mo. Stratum offers a portfolio of branded, value-added ingredients developed in collaboration with global partnerships, based on consumer need and supported by science. Stratum specializes in condition specific categories, which include structural, digestive, and immune health to offer full solutions for human and companion animal nutrition.

Vitatech Nutritional Sciences Inc., is a legacy formulator and manufacturer, and dietary supplement contract manufacturer based in Tustin, Calif. Founded in 1954, Vitatech’s manufacturing capabilities include tablets, two-piece capsules, powders, capsule banding, enteric coating of soft gels, and original formulas, using high-volume, high-speed, pharmaceutically validated process equipment. Vitatech also has complete on-site heavy metals and microbiological testing to provide additional levels of quality assurance.

“These are the first companies to join CRN since we announced our new membership structure in July that provides various categories and dues rates for the many firms that compose our industry, from ingredient representatives to contract manufacturers and branded marketers,” notes Steve Mister, CRN president and CEO. “We think this new flexible approach to our membership makes CRN more attractive than ever, and we are glad to welcome Barrington, Stratum and Vitatech as the first of many companies who want to take advantage of the market benefits we offer CRN members.”
