NOW Foods celebrates 45th anniversary

NOW Foods, a leader in the nutritional supplements industry, marks its 45-year anniversary with a renewed commitment to its core mission—empowering people to live healthier lives through all-natural, high-quality and affordable products. Recognized as a respected advocate in the natural products industry, and still a family-owned company, NOW continues to invest in product development and innovation with a focus on returning to its food company roots and growing its NOW Real Food™ line of products.

To help support this initiative, NOW recently hired Chef Suzy Singh, FOX’s “MasterChef” Season 2 Finalist, as the company’s new R&D corporate chef. Singh’s goal, through recipe development and new product concepts, is to make it easy for the wellness-seeking community to incorporate natural products into their everyday routine. Two new food launches Singh will support include:

  • Living Now, a brand new, allergy-friendly and gluten-free line of grains, flours and baking products that excludes eight major allergens (dairy, wheat, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, eggs, fish and shellfish). Made in a dedicated gluten-free, allergy-friendly facility, this line is now available at fine health food stores with new products continuing to be added.

  • Ellyndale, scheduled to launch in the fall of this year, is a new line of gourmet natural and organic foods using premium ingredients to create unique and innovative flavors and offerings for a superior taste experience.

“Anniversaries are a time for reflection, and we are  grateful  to  everyone  who has  contributed to NOW’s growth and our ability to fulfill our original mission to provide value in products and services that empower people to lead healthier lives,” said Al Powers, CEO of NOW Health Group.

In addition to NOW’s Real Food line, the company growth across all its categories (supplements, sports nutrition and personal care) continues to be strong, and NOW is currently the largest line of health products sold in health food stores. Still independent and family owned, NOW sells over 1,400 products in more than 80 countries and employs nearly 1,000 people. The company recently added manufacturing capacity to meet increased demand with a new LEED-certified, 180,000-square-foot facility in Sparks, Nev., where it has expanded its manufacturing capabilities to include softgel products. NOW also added increased production capacity at the Bloomingdale, Ill., manufacturing and distribution facility by moving its corporate headquarters to a nearby building. With this expansion, NOW has created 250 new jobs in Illinois and Nevada combined in the past year.
