NPA launches Wednesday webinar series

The Natural Products Association (NPA), the nation’s largest and oldest nonprofit trade organization representing the entire natural products industry, today announced plans for its new 2014 Wednesday Webinar Series, which begins Jan. 22 with Social Media for Dietary Supplements: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly.

The new monthly program from NPA will focus on key industry topics. Some sessions will be tailored specifically to retailers, while others will address the manufacturing and regulatory issues unique to suppliers of dietary supplements, food, cosmetics and more. A few webinars will also highlight subjects, such as legislative issues, that are essential for everyone working in the industry. The new series is open to all industry stakeholders, but NPA members can attend at an exclusive rate.

“This new webinar series is designed to address the current needs of our members, who expressed interest in more web-based education,” said NPA CEO and Executive Director John Shaw. “As our industry advances and new issues emerge, NPA understands how important it is to provide educational opportunities to retailers, suppliers and everyone in the dietary supplement and natural products industry. We’re excited to present these new resources, and look forward to receiving attendee feedback so we can continue to grow these kinds of NPA programs to better serve industry needs.”

NPA’s first three webinars in 2014 include:

Social Media for Dietary Supplements: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, Jan. 22: With featured speaker Scott Bass of Sidley Austin, this session will focus on the industry regulations for marketing supplements online. Registration for this webinar is now open.

Mastering the Mainstream Media, Feb. 19: Retailers will receive professional insight into how to respond to customer inquiries when big news stories have them questioning their supplements.

Lobbying: What’s it All About?, March 19: Industry stakeholders who want to know more about the art of lobbying and why it’s important will hear an inside perspective from the NPA advocacy team.
