Retailer Roundtable: Which products are selling surprisingly well in your store?

Retailers clue us in to what products are defying odds and selling well in their stores.

Dani Segal, Owner of Healthy Thymes Market in Vernon, N.J.  Dani Segal

Our raw products are doing really well, specifically foods and nutraceuticals that offer enzymatic activity. We also sell a lot of E3Live and KeVita drinks. Shoppers seem to be searching for foods that offer energy and ease digestion. I’m really surprised that so many people over the age of 40 are trying and embracing these products.

Edward Brown, General manager of Pilgrim’s Market in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Edward Brown

For us, raw milk has become humongous. It’s definitely the fastest selling product in our chilled department. We introduced it when Idaho became a raw state, and it became our number-one SKU within a month.

Jenna Otwell, Manager at NorthShore Wellness Shoppe in Glenview, Ill.Jenna Otwell

Our store is connected to a doctor’s office, so sales are really driven by that. We see a lot of cancer patients, so Fungi Perfecti Host Defense, a mushroom blend that enhances immune function, sells really well.

Elizabeth Faulds, Manager at Debbie’s Health Foods in Port Orange, Fla.  Elizabeth Faulds

Anything that Dr. Oz recommends does really well. We’ve sold a lot of raspberry ketones, African mango supplements and SafSlim, all of which he’s talked about. We can be caught off guard after he discusses something, because we get inundated with customers. He’s talking about saffron now, so we’re in the process of bringing in a bunch.
