UNPA members, partners win NBJ Awards

Alliance congratulates three member companies and two partner organizations for receiving 2013 Nutrition Business Journal Awards.

The United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA), an international alliance of forward-looking companies dedicated to providing consumers with natural health products of superior quality, benefit and reliability, congratulates three member companies and two of the alliance’s partner organizations for their receipt of the 2013 Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ) Awards.

UNPA member companies receiving the 2013 award and the categories for which they were honored:

  • 4Life: Philanthropy
  • Alkemist Labs: Growth
  • Thorne Research: Investment in the Future

Additionally, the following UNPA Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Partners received the 2013 award:

  • American Botanical Council: Education
  • Medicus Research: Science

“We congratulate these member companies and UNPA partners, as well as their executives and team members, on the much-deserved receipt of this award,” said Loren Israelsen, UNPA president. “As true ‘best in class’ organizations, these member companies represent UNPA members’ commitment to competence in quality management, adherence to accepted industry standards and practices and an executive commitment to safety, science and research.
“The awards presented to our MOU partner organizations reiterates UNPA’s core belief that collaborating with organizations with expertise in a wide variety of related disciplines creates innovation, superior new product development, enhanced company performance and a stronger natural products industry,” he added.
UNPA organizes its key objectives and work plans through a series of MOUs and commercial partnerships that bring expertise, influence and trusted reputations to serve the needs of its members and its industry stakeholders with greatest effect and efficiency.
The NBJ Awards provide annual recognition of industry's brightest stars and key players as they broaden the impact and reputation of nutrition as a true steward of health and wellness, according to Marc Brush, NBJ editor-in-chief. The awards will be presented in July during a ceremony at the NBJ Summit in Dana Point, Calif.
