The United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA), an international association of forward-looking companies dedicated to providing consumers with natural health products of superior quality, benefit and reliability, is pleased to announce the membership of contract research and product development provider KGK Synergize as its newest Science & Technology Services member.
KGK Synergize, based in London, Ontario, Canada, was established in 1997 and was founded by three scientists associated with the Centre for Human Nutrition at the University of Western Ontario. KGK operates two divisions, a Contract Research Services (CRS) division and a New Product Development division. The New Product Development division implements screening techniques to develop nutraceutical and functional food products to the point where they are ready to market.
The CRS division provides a wide range of research studies to third-party organizations. KGK guides its clients through the research process, assisting them in identifying the health benefits of their products. KGK routinely works with clients to conduct studies that meet Food and Drug Administration regulations, Federal Trade Commission guidelines and aid in claims substantiation.
Major areas of expertise include bioavailability and bioequivalence studies, cholesterol management, blood glucose support, women’s health, satiety, weight loss and immunity.
"As the leading Canadian contract research organization, KGK Synergize has witnessed the importance of UNPA to the natural products industry over the past 23 years," said Najla Guthrie, KGK Synergize president and CEO. "At KGK, our partnership with UNPA will help us to continue to support and implement good manufacturing practice (GMP) regulations and adverse event reporting systems with every human clinical trial and GMP consulting we conduct. We look forward to partnering with UNPA and continuing to support and advance its mission."
“Product safety, efficacy and claims substantiation are central to meeting consumer expectations and satisfaction,” said Loren Israelsen, UNPA president. “KGK Synergize has proven itself to be a North American leader in bringing science, safety and research technologies to the natural products industry. We welcome the KGK Synergize team to the UNPA membership and look forward to many future collaborations.”
