U.S.-China HPA releases chart of China's blue hat registrations

The U.S.-China Health Products Association created a historical chart mapping China's State Food and Drug Administration's (SFDA) registration approvals for dietary supplements from 1996 to 2012. As the chart shows, the total number of registrations has fluctuated over the years and clearly shows the huge discrepancy between domestic and foreign approvals. At the end of 2012, the association met with SFDA to discuss the future outlook for dietary supplements. During that meeting, SFDA made it clear they were looking to decrease the total number of registrations given out for both domestic and foreign companies by close to fifty percent.
