Mayer Bros. acquires apple fiber biz

Mayer Bros. Apple Products Inc. of West Seneca, N.Y., (mayerbrothers.com), a five-generation family business since 1852 (SQF Level 3 Certified), is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of the Tastee Apple Inc. apple fiber business, effective July 1, 2013.

For the past several years, Mayer’s corporate mission has been to become the leading producer of low moisture apple fiber products. The acquisition of the Tastee apple fiber business makes it possible to quickly accomplish this objective.

Tastee Apple, the number-one supplier of superior low moisture apple fiber products, has been the major North American supplier since 1986. The Tastee apple fiber business acquired by Mayer Bros. includes all of the fiber production equipment from the Tastee Newcomerstown, Ohio, plant together with technical operations assistance and marketing expertise. The equipment was installed at Mayer Bros. new plant facility in West Seneca and will allow them to increase the overall supply of low moisture apple and other fiber products.

Greg Hackenbracht, owner of Tastee Apple Inc., and his technical processing and operations team will remain committed to Mayer Bros. for the next several years to maintain a smooth transition. The West Seneca fiber products will continue to be marketed under the Tastee Apple name.

All sales and marketing will continue to be handled by Sherman and Russell Carlson of S.A. Carlson Inc. ([email protected], [email protected]).
