Supplements industry mourns loss of John McLoughlin

Natural products industry veteran John McLoughlin, 69, died Wednesday, May 19th. For the past 15 years McLoughlin was employed by Soft Gel Technologies, most recently as territory sales manager.

“John was loved by the industry and loved by his customers. It was because of him that they did business [with us]. This is a real loss,” said Ron Udell, president of OptiPure/Kenko International.

“You would never hear him say anything bad about anybody; he was one really nice guy to have in the industry,” said John Carlson, president of Carlson Laboratories in Arlington Heights, Ill.

McLoughlin’s tenure in the industry began in 1981 when he joined the sales team at Banner Pharmacaps. McLoughlin is survived by his wife Margaret, “Gretta”, and his four children.
