Even the hipster organic milk craze isn't enough to end glut

In the last two years, production of organic milk has surged so much that the industry is now, in some cases, facing a new problem: surplus. Sales of organic milk have doubled over the decade, and a growing number of farmers, noticing growing market share for organic products and the premiums they fetch, have made the effort to convert. "Milk may be long right now, but it’s only a matter of time before demand catches up," says Nate Lewis, senior crop and livestock specialist at the Organic Trade Association. Read more at Bloomberg Markets...

NY wants to require cleaning products to disclose all ingredients

New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced a regulation that would require makers of cleaning products including soaps and detergents to disclose all of the ingredients and trace contaminants in their products that are considered threats to public health or environment via their websites. A draft form has been released and is open for public comment until June 14. Although the regulation wouldn't initially include personal care and children's product, it could later extend to do so, the governor's office said. Read more at Newsday...
