BI Nutraceuticals addresses workers strike

All Los Angeles port terminals are shut down, resulting in a halt of all operations.

Clerical workers of the ILWU (International Longshore and Warehouse Union) at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are on strike. Currently, all Los Angeles port terminals are shut down, resulting in a halt of all operations. No shipments will be examined, cleared, moved, etc., until the matter is solved. Unfortunately, this includes a number of our raw materials that are either already at the port or expected to arrive.

The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) is hoping for a temporary restraining order from the federal court, directing the ILWU workers to return to work. This situation may call for the creation of contingency plans for future West Coast cargo. There are a variety of alternative transit routes available to us, including the U.S. East Coast, Canada, or Mexico ports. Air Freight or Air/Sea modes could also be viable alternatives.

BI Nutraceuticals values your business and we endeavor to be a partner with you in managing the botanical ingredient supply chain. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding this development.
