New York, NY -- After over 45 years, Robert Ullman has decided to take a well-earned step back from his day-to-day role in Ullman, Shapiro & Ullman, LLP, the law firm he founded, and has assumed the role of Senior Counsel to the firm.
Mr. Ullman’s career has featured many significant, precedent-setting victories on behalf of the natural products industry, including groundbreaking litigation against the FDA, which paved the way for the passage of DSHEA.
Mr. Ullman had his first case involving the natural products industry in 1961, and has been involved in many of the pivotal cases regarding the industry throughout his career. In 2005 Mr. Ullman was presented with the Natural Products Association’s President’s Award in recognition of his life-long dedication to the natural products industry.
“The industry has long benefited from Bob’s wisdom and experience,” said David Seckman, Executive Director and CEO of the Natural Products Association. “We are fortunate that he has chosen to continue serving the industry when he is not on the golf course.”
In his capacity as Senior Counsel he will continue to assist clients with whom he has an established relationship as well as new clients desiring his expertise, although he is leaving his customary 60-hour workweeks behind.
