USANA Health Sciences, Inc., is pleased to announce that relief organization Children's Hunger Fund (CHF) will name its new medical centre in Malawi after USANA Founder and Chairman Dr. Myron Wentz.
CHF President Dave Phillips made the announcement Sunday at his organization's annual Children's Champion Awards banquet. "Dr. Wentz has been a strong advocate for CHF and has had a major influence on bettering the lives of children around the world. I cannot think of a better way to honor Dr. Wentz's hard work than to name our newest medical center after him. This facility in Malawi will stand as a tribute to his legacy of improving health and alleviating suffering."
USANA distributors and employees, including CEO Dave Wentz, donated nearly $40,000 for the tribute to Dr. Wentz, who learned of the surprise honor at the CHF banquet. According to CHF, the Wentz Medical Centre in Malawi will provide the country's poorest population with preventative and diagnostic treatment, as well as a maternity ward with extensive prenatal and postnatal programs. Two additional Wentz Medical Centres, in Uganda and Cambodia, were personally funded by Dr. Wentz and already have treated thousands of underprivileged families.
"To have the new medical center in Malawi named after me is a true honor," Dr. Wentz said. "This facility will provide necessary medical care to thousands and will help ease the suffering of this impoverished region. CHF has done outstanding work in an effort to better the lives of those around the world, and I am proud to be associated with such a reputable organization."
USANA began its long-standing partnership with CHF eight years ago. In that time, USANA and CHF have worked together to alleviate hunger and give thousands of children around the world daily nourishment and medical care. In total, USANA and its distributors have donated more than $9 million in cash and products to CHF since their partnership began.
