Farrah Marfatia Joins dicentra

In line with dicentra’s expansion into pharmaceutical and international regulatory services, Farrah Marfatia joins dicentra as a regulatory affairs associate, bringing expertise in strategy and filing of over-the-counter (OTC) drug submissions, including Rx-to-OTC Switch, New Drug, and Provincial Scheduling Submissions. She has extensive experience with Advertising Standards Canada (ASC) in the filing of television and mass print advertising campaigns and has negotiated the approval of therapeutic comparative claims with Health Canada and ASC. Farrah provides a strong insight into the Gazetting process for switches and the organization and conduct of scientific advisory boards with Canadian opinion leaders.

Farrah comes to dicentra from a large pharmaceutical company, where she won numerous awards for her regulatory contributions for filings, approvals and launches. Prior to that, she developed and managed a Natural Health Product division for another company, working with some of the largest OTC importers and distributers in Canada. Farrah also has 6 years of retail pharmacy experience.

Farrah received her Hons. B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and a Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations Certification (RAQC) from Seneca College. She is an active participant on NDMAC taskforces, providing input on issues such as GMPs, Product Monographs, LASAs (Look-alike Sound-alike) and Post-Notices of Compliance. She regularly attends educational programmes and conferences and is a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Regulatory Affairs and the Pharmaceutical Sciences Group.
