The Hon Rob Knowles AO, Chairman of the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Board, today announced temporary acting arrangements for the Chief Executive Officer of Food Standards Australia New Zealand.
‘Graham Peachey, FSANZ’s current Chief Executive Officer has been appointed to the Chief Executive Officer position of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
‘While Graham’s departure is a loss for FSANZ, the new position is an exciting opportunity for him. As a result of Graham’s leadership, FSANZ is in a very strong position with a highly competent staff, including depth in its leadership.
‘We wish Graham every success in his new position and thank him for his fine contribution to FSANZ over the last few years.
‘The FSANZ Board has met to formalise acting arrangements until a new Chief Executive Officer can be selected. We have decided that Dean Stockwell, General Manager Food Standards (Wellington), and Melanie Fisher, General Manager Food Standards (Canberra), will alternate in the position, each for periods of two months, until the permanent filling of the position is finalised. Dean Stockwell will act initially from Monday, 16 April 2007.
‘The Board has commenced the process to select a new CEO and we anticipate advertising the position widely in the near future,’ Mr Knowles concluded.
