Proactive health
The first television ad for UK's national Change4Life campaign aired on January 3. The campaign is intended to promote healthy eating patterns amongst UK citizens and encourage exercise in order to stem the country's spiralling obesity epidemic.

Lose it or pay
New York Governor David Paterson is trying to reduce the size of the state budget by reducing the size of the average citizen. With obesity rates soaring, he has proposed an 18 percent tax on any fruit drink that is less than 70 per cent fruit juice, and other fattening items.
