International Probiotic Association (IPA) Announces Date of First World Congress

Los Angeles, CA, October 16, 2006 — Founding and Industry members of the International Probiotic Association (IPA) convened here on September 28, 2006 for the official Launch of the IPA Website and announcement of the First IPA World Congress which will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA on November 9-10, 2007. The mission of the IPA is to provide a forum for the exchange of new clinical research and advances in product development, to establish scientific standards for probiotic products within the international marketplace, and to promote the health benefits of probiotic microorganisms to humans and animals. IPA will focus on creating measurable standards for probiotic products and will work closely with international regulatory agencies to make clinically-proven probiotic products readily available to consumers around the world.

The IPA website, located at, contains summaries of current and past probiotic research, consumer-friendly information and educational resources, and highlights of new advances in probiotic production and products.
